Fungaia Farm Internship Program
Come explore the wonderful world of fungi!
Fungaia Farm’s internship program consists of in-depth training in mushroom cultivation. Our program offers a hands-on experience through all the steps from laboratory work to growing and harvesting mushrooms. Participants will spend time learning the process of how a mushroom farm works from start to finish.
The internship program requires a 4-month minimum commitment between May and October.
The time commitment is 1-2 days per week at 4-5 hours per day. (Hours and workdays will be decided on a case-by-case basis).
Participants are required to apply by submitting a written letter explaining their interests in the program. Applications are accepted from January through March.
Work days will be a combination of instructional information and hands-on training.
The program will cover sterile laboratory work, spawn production, substrate prep and sterilization, mushroom fruiting, and harvesting.
This is an unpaid internship that offers education and training through experience.
Fungaia Farm specializes in culinary and medicinal mushroom production. We sell dried mushrooms, tinctures, spice mixes, and gravy. Fungaia Farm was founded in 2011 to provide the local community with fresh mushrooms and spawn for mushroom growers nationwide. We provide classes and workshops throughout the year and are involved in several fungal remediation projects in California.
